Having a pet iguana can be great, but you should look to create an appropriate iguana habitat. It should be one that will be useful for not only allowing for a good space for the animal to roam but also one that will not create any damages in the home. An iguana cage is a great thing to use. But when building an iguana cage is going to be important, as there are a few considerations that will be needed so that you can get a better living environment for your pet.

First, you should make sure that your cage is secure and spacious. Having a cage the size of a large room or closet is great to use. Having some artificial plants to climb on and hang over can be great for the iguana as well, as it will give the iguana exercise. However, it is best to consider the size of the iguana. A smaller one will end up growing at a quick rate in the early years of its life, so you should prepare for the growth that the animal will have.

Air circulation is important for building an iguana cage. A small and quiet fan can be used for the cage. This can work to regulate the air that is in the cage and add to the temperature and humidity in the cage. Having a good flow of air will also help in that it will keep mildew from growing in the area. If mildew does grow then it can be cleaned with bleach and water.

In the evening when the temperature is cooler it helps to have a heating pad in the iguana habitat. The wall of the cage should have a seventy five watt bulb in it. However, you should watch for the electrical connections in the area. You should make sure that all of the wiring in the area is secure and is not in an area where the iguana could reach them.

Allowing the iguana to adapt to its new iguana habitat is important. It is best that you stay with the iguana when it moves into its new iguana habitat. This is because an iguana can be scared when in an area that it is not familiar with. Over time the iguana will feel safer though.

The last of the things to use for the iguana cage is to keep it clean. All pests that are outside should be kept out of the cage. Left over foods should always be removed from the cage. Also, any dangerous spots should be cleaned.

Building an iguana cage is something that can be great in that you will be giving a good living environment to your iguana. However, you should watch for the size of the cage, the wiring, air circulation and general cleanliness of the area. These tips are all needed so that you will be able to get the best living environment possibly for your iguana.
